The Gardens at Elmhurst

When warm weather arrives each spring, the gardens of Elmhurst explode with beautiful flowers and greenery throughout the campus. The Bloch mansion’s large front porch welcomes beautiful white wicker furniture that beckons residents to enjoy the sunshine and early evenings. In the rear gardens, a gazebo surrounded by beautiful flowers provides a shaded spot for relaxation. The open creek-side deck is a favorite gathering area, as well. Anglers may decide to cast a line into the flowing Wheeling Creek from the deck. A patio adjacent to the first floor family room and library features an umbrella table just right for reading a good book. A standing garden planted by the residents surrounds the private patio. A secogarden 1nd patio, surrounded by blooming rose bushes, also hosts a standing garden tended by residents. A gently winding walking path entices residents to enjoy a stroll through the gardens for exercise and fitness. The gardens of Elmhurst are an oasis of nature, nestled among one of Wheeling’s finest neighborhoods, where a family of deer often can be found among them.
