Elmhurst was voted the No. 1 Assisted Living Community and the No. 1 Retirement Community in the 2020 Readers’ Choice Awards competition sponsored by the Wheeling News-Register & Intelligencer and Times-Leader.
The annual competition relies upon readers to vote for their favorites in hundreds of categories. Jamie Crow, executive director at Elmhurst, noted “This is an extra special honor, especially during our 130th anniversary year. Not only that, with the Covid-19 pandemic, Elmhurst has worked diligently to protect our precious residents. Thanks to all who voted for Elmurst.”
Crow also offered special thanks to everyone who participated in the 2020 Virtual 5-K Walk/Run fundraiser. The event replaced the planned steak fry on the lawn due to the Covid crisis. “These wonderful sponsors helped us make the most of a difficult situation with their support.”
