Chef Michael Travis has joined Elmhurst as Director of Culinary Services, announces Executive Director Jamie Crow.
“We are extremely pleased that Chef Travis has joined the Elmhurst Team. His experience in the restaurant business and the catering arena will enhance the culinary menus for our residents on a daily basis,” Crow said, adding, “Elmhurst has a reputation for fine culinary dining, and as we enter our 126th year of service, the addition of Chef Travis will ensure we continue that tradition.”
Chef Travis, a Paden City native, has 15 years experience as a chef. He most recently joined Chef Rocco Basis, his mentor, catering an event honoring former U.S. Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich before a speaking engagement at Wheeling Jesuit University.
During his tenure as chef at Ruttenbuck’s Restaurant, Chef Travis won best food honors at the annual Health Right auction, three out of four years. Chef Travis is the father of a son, 13, and daughter, 11.
