We’re Capturing Memories from the Kitchen

Won’t You Join Us?

There are many recipes for happiness. Some recipes are old, tried and true. Others resonate with the new “healthy” eating trend. But one thing is for sure, the aromas of our favorite foods bring back memories.

Elmhurst, The House of Friendship is going to produce a memory book  from the ‘heart of the home’ – the kitchen table. Our cookbook will feature favorite recipes from our current residents, their families, former residents’ families, board members, staff, and friends, and others.

Our goal is two-fold: To share cherished memories through our favorite recipes, and to raise funds to replace our 15 year-old passenger van.

As a non-profit senior residence, we provide transportation to our residents for appointments, shopping, theatre productions, and other outings that enhance the quality of life. Our trusty old van has seen better days. A modern van with all the bells and whistles that make travel more convenient is our goal. Please share a recipe with us.

*If you have questions, please contact Elmhurst at 304.242.0240 or  email marilyn.mull@yahoo.com or jamiec@elmhurstpch.com. Recipes may be mailed to us or sent to us at Elmhurst Cookbook, 1228 National Road, Wheeing, WV 26003.

All recipes must be received by June 1, 2014.
